Will you be meeting with your church family this Sunday? Or will you put your feet up and chill out?

When you surrender your life to Christ, you be come a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). It is an exciting, wonderful and life changing experience.

Unfortunately, in our modern, individualistic society, we tend to overlook a very important reality. In committing our lives to Christ, we have become a part of God’s family (Ephesians 2:19). We are a part of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27). It is no longer about me, myself and I.

Are there legitimate reasons why we can’t attend meetings, or what we would call church services today? Yes, there are.

My intention is not to put anyone on a guilt trip. Attending just to get brownie points with man won’t get you anywhere with the Master (Matthew 6:1).

The bible shows us clearly that we are not meant to grow in isolation. This is why the writer of the book of Hebrews encouraged his audience not to neglect the meetings. The believers were being persecuted for their faith (Hebrews 10:32-39). Just like some of our brothers and sisters are being treated terribly in some parts of the world today.

Individual worship has its place. But so does corporate worship. It is an opportunity to grow together, pray for each other, challenge each other and encourage each others faith (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Always remember, we share a mutual faith. We all need each other. Don’t be lax when it comes to attendance. Have a great weekend!

Remain strong in His Grace.
